Hands are shown in up to three colors on the National Mah Jongg League card. What do these colors mean?
The colors on the card depict the number of suits required to make the hand. When a hand is shown in one color, it must be played in one suit only. If a hand is shown in two or three colors, it must be played in any 2 or 3 suits. Further clarification may be found in parenthesis after the hand.
