When a player displays several exposures, are there any rules as to how these should be set out on their rack?
There are no actual rules regarding whether a player should leave a space between sets of exposed tiles. However, the National Mah Jongg League has stated that it is 'courteous' to leave a space between exposures. Mah Jongg etiquette would also suggest that when jokers have been used that these be placed within natural tiles, where possible, so it is obvious which grouping they belong to. However, it is not expected that exposures be placed in the order shown on the card, but when Mah Jongg is declared, tiles in the winning hand should be re-arranged to show the correct order.
