I called a discard but another player got it
The other player called the discard as well and had precedence over you.
According to National Mah Jongg League rules, if two or more players call for the same discarded tile:
- The player closest to the discarding player (in counter-clockwise order) has priority.
- However, a player calling for Mah Jongg always takes precedence over players calling for an exposure.
- If 2 players call the discard for Mah Jong, the player closest to the discarding player (in counter-clockwise order) has priority.
In our online game, the system waits until all players (including the bots) have made their decision before awarding the discarded tile. This ensures it can correctly determine who has priority based on both seating position and whether anyone is calling for Mah Jongg.
